- Basma Hamdy

Basma Hamdy is an Egyptian artist, designer, and educator who is dedicated to researching and documenting street art of the Egyptian revolution. She graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1998 and completed an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2003. Her research interests include Arabic typography, cultural preservation, and Egyptian pop culture. She has been teaching art and design in the Middle East for 10 years. She is currently Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar.
