Biography:
Reem Al Ghaith a young polymath working in the fields of visual art, graphic design, printmaking, and photography. She was born and raised in Dubai in 1985, where she currently lives and works. Al Ghaith holds a BSc in Visual Communication from the School of Architecture and Design, American Universty of Sharjah,UAE. Her work examines changes in the urban and social landscape of the UAE and how these relate to tradition and history. Al Ghaith’s first international exhibition took place at the Lessedra World Print Annual in Sofia, Bulgaria when she was still a student in 2006. In 2008 Al Ghaith’s work was featured in several exhibitions including, “Dubai Next”, at the Vitra Design Museum, Weil Am Rhein Germany, “Emirati Expressions” Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E, “Dubai Underground” Like Spice Gallery, New York, U.S.A, “Provisions for the Future” Sharjah Biennial 9, Sharjah, U.A.E, and recently at “Across the Gulf: Brisbane Biennial” Brisbane, Australia. Al Ghaith’s work was featured in several international publications such as, ARTnews Magazine, Next Level Magazine, The Monocle, The Art Newspaper, and Le Monde. Al Ghaith also writes and was a panelist in "The History of Photography and Contemporary Photography in the Gulf Region" a 2008 discussion forum at the Dubai International Financial Center.
