Sonia Ashour, received her bachelor of arts degree in interior architecture in 1991 from King Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In 1992 she joined the master program at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, U.S.A. from which she graduated in 1994 with a masters of fine arts degree in International hospitality design. With a track record both in the U.S.A and U.K Sonia Ashour returned to Saudi Arabia in year 2000,
Co-founding the department of interior design at Dar Al-Hekma private college, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and lecturing in Foundation of color, Graphics and Drawing.
In late 2001 Sonia Ashour established A|G interior design consultants in Al-Khobar Saudi Arabia. Her firm tackles high profile projects to include hotels, corporate offices, and embassies and ambassador residences for the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ms. Ashour and her firm are featured in numerous media outlets such as, Models of success (Dream factory documentary film), Women in the Arts (Al-Jazira Int'l), Saudi Contemporaries (MBC), Middle East interiors, Forbes, Women in business, Gulf Weekly, Arabia Homes to name a few.
Sonia Ashour also plays an active role in the field of academia. She teaches on a volunteer bases at several Gulf based universities and provides a full summer training program to young female designers in the region. Passionate about where she comes from, Ms. Ashour acts as a design and cultural advisor on many mega projects in the Gulf.
