Event:
Lara BALADI a la Fiac
People staring
It was on a beautiful rainy Saturday afternoon. They built a white cubic structure, with transparent windows, inside the Cour Carree du Louvre to host the younger galleries present at the FIAC. Along the windows were white benches. Two of LaraB's works hung there, facing the vividly decorated Corinthian facade of the Cour Carree, presented by La B.A.N.K taking the light beautifully with people watching mesmerized and amused. Seeing this work in this setting instantly made it make sense, the composition was very classic, the organization of the perspective was perfect, the balance in the distribution had something antique. Yet the characters were distinctly Oriental . The piece was very modern, super high tech but totally graspable, and humorous. The people glued on the bench and the red dots testified that Lara Baladi uses a vocabulary that transcends time and culture.
