Founded in 1744, Sotheby’s is a global company that engages in art auction, private sales and art-related financing activities. The company operates in 40 countries, with principal salesrooms located in New York, London, Hong Kong and Paris. The Company also regularly conductions auctions in six other salesrooms around the world. Sotheby’s is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BID.

Operational since December 2008, Sotheby’s Qatar has helped establish presence in the region, which continues to grow. Following the first international auction in Doha in March 2008, Sotheby’s has held a series of exhibitions displaying pre-sale highlights and supported other educational and awareness raising events in Qatar.
