The space (word separator) could be a line. The dot is a dot above a line. Could be in the line. It makes all the words connected and limits the white spaces in between the lines. The three horizontal strokes (top, middle and botton/baseline) of the characters are alined. Exception p and q lowercase and caps P and Q. the only connection is just the lower corner.
Most vertical strokes align too.
I love the randomness of the white shapes that appear in and around the letters.
