Khanabadosh

In collaboration with certain learned friends and the associates of the Federal Department of Archaeology & Museums, have founded an academic NGO bearing the symbolic Title of KHANABADOSH RESEARCH AND EXPLORATION SOCIETY.

Khanabadosh sounds a strange appellation for an academic NGO ( non government organization ) , devoted to scientific studies, archaeological researches and explorations.
Literally meaning a ‘nomad’ the name carries a poetic or philosophic connotation to self-less gleaners of knowledge who projected and transmitted their findings to others without seeking any material returns for their own gain. This is in acknowledgment of the services of the nomadic tribes in ancient times who played their silent role in propagating the cultural elements from one region to another, and thereby in homogenizing the social differences of mankind.

The Society has a vast scope of initiating and reviving the traditions of field researches in Pakistan from the coastal strip of the Arabian Sea in the south to the Karakoram and Himalayan Mountain Chains in the North .

It is envisaged to be devoted exclusively to academic researches and publications on Environmental Sciences, Natural History, Archaeology, Anthropology and other relevant fields of intellectual enquiries, with main focus centered upon new findings in the History of Mankind and the Cultural evolution.

The work involves test digging, mapping, and documenting all the associated faunal fossils, stone artifacts, grotto dwellings, etc. in systematic way. We aspire to attain sophistication in our illustrated reports of the finds to match the presentations of the National Geographic of Washington D.C. Our study area is spread over three main Districts of northern Punjab, viz., Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and Jhelum Districts. Planning to establish Base M-1 to continue our research and explorations.
