Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), the name behind Abu Dhabi's most prestigious tourism and cultural developments, has brought some of the world's finest Islamic art to the UAE capital. For the first time in the Middle East, over 500 works of art from the renowned Khalili Collection are on display at the Emirates Palace.

This major exhibition presents both the religious and secular arts of Islam, illustrating the breadth of artistic achievement in the Islamic world. The objects on display explore the development of this rich heritage from its beginnings in the early 7th century to the early 20th century and cover a geographic span extending from China in the East to Spain in the West, and from the Central Asian steppes in the North to Africa in the South.

The Nasser D. Khalili Collection of Islamic Art comprises some 20,000 works and is the largest and most comprehensive in the world, encompassing the entire history of Islamic Art.

A symposium in association with the exhibition Arts of Islam will take place on the 23rd of January, at the Emirates Palace Auditorium, and under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan. For more details click here to get the full program.
