Atassi Gallery’s initial role was to serve as an art library – a vision born of the passion of two sisters who wanted to engage the Syrian audience, both culturally and intellectually. The gallery then took on the task of exhibiting works by some of Syria’s top artists, whether established or emerging. Reem Maghribi meets Mouna Atassi and discusses the gallery’s 23 year-old history.
