Leon D. is Bahraini self-taught artist who experiments with pop and surreal art. He is also the founder and Director for Mythicolo-G, which is the first street art crew in Bahrain and probably one of the few in the gulf.
Heavily influenced by Japanese Comics and Avant-garde Metal and Jazz, his work tends to be based on concepts from mythical and current themes and elements through Bahrain’s history, which is combines the Arabic, Greek and Babylonians, with element of fantasy and ancient mythology.
His love to the street art scene grew while he was studying his Engineering course in the U.K. and had his share of experimenting with graffiti, stickers and light drawing via photography.
In his work he believes that there is beauty in imperfection and challenge in contradiction.
He has been working locally and online with several artist abroad, places including Mexico, Brazil and Japan.
