Olivia Snaije is a freelance journalist based in Paris and the books editor for Harper’s Bazaar Art (Arabia) and Contributing Editor for publishingperspectives.com. She is a former Commissioning Editor of Saqi/Telegram as well as former Executive Editor of Alef, a London-based magazine covering Middle Eastern culture, lifestyle and fashion. She has reported for Beirut’s Daily Star from London and Paris since 2001. She was Editor-in-Chief of World Media in Paris, where she put together a magazine published by a group of twenty-six newspapers worldwide including Libération (France), La Stampa (Italy), El País (Spain), Ha’aretz (Israel), Al-Ahram (Egypt), Oslobodenje (Bosnia) and the Tages-Anzeiger (Switzerland). She has written
for a variety of magazines and newspapers including The Guardian, The New York Times, The Financial Times, Condé Nast Traveler, The Global Post, The National and Midd
le East, and was a staff member at both Vanity Fair and CBC/Radio Canada in New York. She recently translated Lamia Ziadé's Bye Bye Babylon and is working on two books, one focusing on Palestine.
