Dahlia Refaat Bio: Born in 1979, Alexandria- Egypt. Earned her BA from the faculty of Specific Education, Arts Education dep- Alexandria University in 2000. In 2003 she obtained the arts education high diploma from the faculty of Arts Education-Helwan University in Cairo. From 2000 till present time she did several studies in painting, digital photography and pinhole camera. She’s participated in several local & international Exhibitions since 1997 till present time. Among her various experiences as an artist are the coordination and curating of spaces and events, the direction of workshops & training as well as the work in the streets. Refaat is a curator at the Jesuits Cultural Center studio hall, Alexandria since 2010 and from 2005 to 2010 has been the artistic coordinator for the exhibitions & arts collection units in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alex Workshop Center and El Dokan space for arts & society in Alexandria. Among the awards Refaat obtained are the 2nd position (drawing )in the Annual Salon of Nagy in 2001, the 3rd position (painting) and the 4th position (drawing) in Nagy’s in 2002 as well as the supporting prize from the 1st Independent Arts Season 2012 (photography).
